5 Things To Do Over Winter Break
You’re finally free! After 15 weeks of a crazy semester, it is weird to think about having a full month off but here you are! Winter Break.
At first this freedom feels awesome but it might get a little boring after a while. Your days are no longer filled with classes, friends right next door and homework, so now what?
Well, I have come up with five things that you could do this winter to keep yourself busy but still relax.
1) Read a Book
After a semester of reading books you had no interest in, it is time to treat yourself to a book you actually want to read. Download one on your Kindle or Nook or take a trip to Barnes and Noble and find one there!
My suggestion would be “The Glass Castle: A Memoir.” I read this over Thanksgiving break and it is a very moving, thrilling and dark story about a young girl’s life.
2) Work
It is hard to find time to work while at school so winter break is the perfect time to make a few extra dollars. Lots of stores are hiring seasonal workers for the holiday time, you could see if your summer job has any extra hours during your break, or you could babysit around your neighborhood.
There are so many different ways to make some quick easy money and when spring semester rolls around you’ll be glad you did.
3) Go to The Movies
I don’t know about you but I’ve missed too many good movies this semester because of school work. This winter break I am going to see movies such as the new Hunger Games movie and I think you should to! Most movie theaters also give awesome student discounts so this will not break the bank.
4) Ice Skate
Ice Skating is cheap and fun! Grab a group of friends, or your boyfriend or girlfriend and have some winter fun. There is no other time of the year that you can ice skate so take advantage of it.
5) Hang with Family and Friends
Last but not least, hanging out with your friends and family. They have definitely missed you and you definitely have missed them too. So take the time this winter break to hang out with them. Get dinner with your friends, take your siblings to the movies and thank your parents for dealing with you during your finals stress.
I hope everyone has an awesome winter break!
